On Wednesday, 4 November, KSIM will hold whole-school Parent Conferences, and there will be no regular lessons that day. MYP and DP reports were issued two days earlier, on Monday, 2 November.
Parent Conferences give students the opportunity to reflect on their progress, share their goals and discuss their next academic steps with their parents and teachers. Students are expected to take ownership of their learning, celebrate achievements and identify areas to improve. Attendance is compulsory, as the conferences are an essential part of the academic programme and strengthen the partnership between school and families. Students who do not attend their scheduled conference will be marked absent for the whole day, and uniform is required as on any regular school day.
MYP and DP students have 10-minute meetings with two or more subject teachers and/or their homeroom teacher, whereas PYP students have a 20-minute meeting with their homeroom teacher. No meetings can be booked between 9:45–10:00, 12:00–12:30 and 15:30–15:45, as these are staff breaks.
In order to book a conference, parents choose suitable times on a booking sheet sent out by the school. Parents should also make sure their Google Calendar is set to Montenegrin local time, since calendars set to a different time zone have caused incorrect bookings in the past.
With reports out on Monday, MYP and DP students will have two days to read them before meeting their teachers. The school says it looks forward to welcoming families on Wednesday and celebrating the progress, effort and growth of its students together.
