As the Student Council Elections are approaching, our newspaper had a chance to interview a Secretary Candidate – Ivan Z. He is studying in Year 11 and this is his first time participating in Student Council Elections. He already introduced himself to you with his outstanding Candidate Video and eye-catching posters around the school. Now, he says, the faith of Student council is up to your choice on the Elections day, 12th October.

Here is how the interview went:
Q: What inspired You to be the Secretary Candidate?
A: It is inspiring for me to make school a better place, and help the student council run productively.
Q: What goals do You have as a Secretary Candidate?
A: As a secretary candidate, I would like to make our school a place where the interests of many people are looked into. The key of my candidacy is not promising something, but assuring that I, as a Student Council Seretary, would be able to do everything to make that happen. I feel like the school is tired from fake promises – and I will never make one.
Q: Is it stressful to participate in Student Council Elections?
A: For me, it was stressful to some extent. It was stressful to film the candidate video and decide on the overall “style” of my candidacy. However, I feel confident in terms of the election process. Now, the rest of the election is pretty much in the hands of the voters.
Q: Are you looking forward to Election day and results?
A: Yes, I am looking forward to the results and I am currently focused on promoting my campaign.
Q: Is there something specific you would like to promise except following your responsibility?
A: When I decided to elect as student council secretary, I wanted to propose a system that would make student workload more manageable and balanced. But then I realised, that being any Student Council Member, not just secretary, is listening to what the students actually want. If they want to make their workload more manageable – I will do everything I can to make it happen
Q: Why should people vote specifically for you?
A: I believe that it would be beneficial to vote for me since I am sure that I can take responsibility for what I will do and my actions.

We hope you enjoyed reading through this interview and now you know more about the candidates of this year’s Student Council Elections.
