A group of young rugby players represented Montenegro in an international Under-11 friendly match in Bratislava, where they faced Slovakia. The match was played as part of an international friendly rugby league competition and marked an important moment for the youngest national selection.
In Bratislava, the Montenegro Under-11 team achieved a 3:2 victory over Slovakia, which was also the first official match of this age-category selection. The Montenegro team was made up of players from Rugby Club Arsenal Tivat and Rugby Club Jadran Herceg Novi, and the team was coached by Mihajlo Mrdić.

Among the players representing Montenegro were four students from our school — Patrick, Luka, Robert and William, and another student — who are also members of RK Arsenal Tivat and part of this successful national selection.
After the tournament, the students shared their impressions of this unforgettable experience.
They described their feelings after the victory as extremely strong: “We felt very confident, like the best rugby players in the world.” They highlighted winning, staying in the hotel, and spending time and having fun with friends as the best parts of the tournament.
When asked why they love rugby, they explained that they love sports in general and that rugby attracts them because it requires strength, speed, and intelligence.
Patrick especially emphasized teamwork as the best moment of the tournament: “The best moment for me was when we worked together, scored the final point, and celebrated the victory together afterwards.”
Luka played a key role in the match: “I scored the winning point. I also assisted Robert and helped him score.”
Robert highlighted the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship: “What I liked most was the good partnership, connection, and sportsmanship.”

When asked what they would say to other children who want to start playing rugby, they were all united: “Go for it, give your best, be a good teammate, and train hard.”
This achievement of young athletes, who form the Montenegro national team together with players from RK Arsenal Tivat and RK Jadran Herceg Novi, represents an important contribution to the development and promotion of rugby among young people.

Congratulations to our students for this outstanding achievement and for proudly representing both their school and Montenegro!
