Tivat has once again come alive with creativity, music, and tradition as the annual “Novembarski dani” (November Days) begin — a month-long celebration organized by local government and numerous cultural organizations. Throughout November, the town offers an engaging lineup of concerts, art exhibitions, book promotions, film screenings, and special cultural programs, all dedicated to honoring local talent and heritage.
This year’s festivities opened with the inauguration of the art atelier “Pean–Sindik,” featuring the thematic exhibition “Imaginarijum Mediterana”. The event pays tribute to the artistic legacy of Anton Pean and Miljenko Sindik, two of Tivat’s most respected painters, while also providing a platform for a new generation of artists inspired by the Mediterranean spirit.
The central celebration will take place on November 21, marking Tivat Municipality Day — an important date in the town’s calendar. The day will begin with the laying of wreaths at the Monument to the Fallen Soldiers, followed by the traditional “Dr. Ivo Belan Peace Run,” named after its founder. A ceremonial parade will fill the streets with color and pride, culminating in the handover of the flag to the Bokelian Navy unit, one of the Adriatic’s oldest maritime fraternities.
On Pine, residents and visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the traditional kolo dance of St. Tryphon, a vivid symbol of Tivat’s cultural and spiritual heritage. Later, the formal municipal session will take place at noon, during which the November Awards will be presented to distinguished individuals and institutions for their contributions to the community.
Special attention will also be given to the celebration of Njegoš Days, dedicated to Montenegro’s national poet and philosopher Petar II Petrović Njegoš. Through a series of lectures, literary evenings, and creative workshops, participants will explore his timeless works and enduring influence on Montenegrin identity.
With its diverse and inspiring program, November Days once again remind us that Tivat is not only a town of beautiful landscapes but also a vibrant center of art, culture, and community spirit.
So step outside, enjoy the crisp November air, and be part of the celebrations!
