World Human Rights Day is celebrated every 10th of December. It commemorates the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights establishes the inalienable rights all humans are granted. The Declaration is a milestone document everyone must be familiar with – for this reason, in English B class, as part of one the IB themes ‘Sharing the Planet’, Y13 students talked and shared their ideas about the violations of human rights all around the world and highlighted their role in upholding the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. They expressed themselves and called for an action in the text type of their choice.
