What if I told you that school is not just tests, lessons, homework, and early mornings.It is also about discovering new interests, meeting new people, and trying new things. This year, ECA is giving students even more opportunities to do exactly that, with a new system and more student involvement.
The ECA officially launched last week.EСA are an important part of school life, giving students the chance to participate in various activities outside of their normal lessons.This year, a wide range of interesting options was available at ECA, from sports and creative pursuits to technology and other diverse interests. This means students can choose what they enjoy, find others with shared interests, or try something new.
And I have some interesting news. This year, we have one big and interesting change regarding the ECA. This year we have greater involvement of students in leading activities! You will notice that many activities have Student Leaders alongside the teacher. These are students from Year 11 to Year 13 who help or lead activities, while teachers supervise and support them throughout.Being a Student Leader gives students the opportunity to develop useful skills such as communication, teamwork, organisation, and leadership. It also allows older students to support younger students and help make activities more enjoyable. For Diploma students, their involvement can also contribute towards their CAS requirements!This student involvement is one of the most encouraging parts of this year’s ECA programme. It shows that ECA is not only about taking part in activities, but also about giving students the chance to take responsibility and contribute to the school community.
As a student myself I think ECA is a great place to do what you love, make new friends, and try something new. The selection of activities this year was so interesting that I didn’t even know which ones to sign up for.I wanted to do everything!
Now that everyone has chosen their activities, it’s time to see what this year’s ECA experience will bring. From trying new things to making memories with friends, there is plenty to look forward to. Let the ECA adventure begin!
