Young Diplomats Demonstrate Knowledge, Debate Skills and the Ability to Address Global Challenges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week, our school had the privilege of hosting the 5th Annual Montenegro Model United Nations (MUN) Conference, one of the most significant events bringing together students from international schools across Montenegro. This year\u2019s conference welcomed participants from six schools: KSIM, QSI, The British Academy, Arcadia, Adriatic College and Adriatic Novi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations in which students take on the roles of diplomats representing different countries and work together to find solutions to current global issues. Through this experience, students develop public speaking, critical thinking, negotiation and international cooperation skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the first day of the conference, students were divided into three committees, with each participant representing a different country. The committees addressed several important contemporary issues: exploring options to protect workers in the technology industry, developing recommendations for accurate food labeling with health and nutritional information, and regulating the use of space technology for militarization and surveillance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following extensive discussions, each committee drafted a resolution containing specific proposals and recommendations. On the second day, delegates presented their resolutions, delivered speeches in support of or opposition to the proposals, suggested amendments and participated in formal debates. All three resolutions were ultimately passed, reflecting the high quality of collaboration and discussion among the delegates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are especially proud of our students, who represented our school with confidence, knowledge and respect for differing viewpoints throughout the conference. Their hard work and dedication were recognized during the closing awards ceremony. Among a delegation of 55 students from across Montenegro, three of our students received the highest distinction, the Best Delegate Award<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This achievement is a source of great pride not only for the award recipients but also for our entire school community, which continuously encourages the development of academic excellence, communication skills and leadership qualities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would also like to extend special thanks to Ms. Alex and Mr. Jack for their leadership, organization and countless hours of preparation that contributed to another highly successful MUN conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
