Our school has recently gained a valuable and exciting addition \u2013 a professional electric ceramic kiln! This powerful machine, which has been catching the curious eyes of students for some time now, is finally in use \u2013 and the first batch of ceramic creations has arrived!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Since the kiln was installed, student curiosity hasn\u2019t waned. Questions directed at teacher Marija and teacher Vlado were frequent: \u201cWhen will we finally get to use it?\u201d<\/em> And the wait has paid off. After completing training and learning various clay shaping techniques, the moment finally came to put their skills into practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The creators of these first ceramic pieces are 6th and 9th-grade students, who, with the support of their teachers, successfully \u201cbaked\u201d small bowls and plates. One technique stood out in particular \u2013 pressing crocheted lace into the clay, resulting in plates with stunning, unique patterns that evoke warmth, tradition, and the beauty of handmade craft.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Beyond just creating items, the workshops became an opportunity for connection, learning, and personal growth. Teachers were delighted to witness how students approached their work with enthusiasm, developing new artistic skills and growing in self-confidence. The process was creative, calming, and \u2013 most importantly \u2013 filled with pride in the final results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this is only the first phase. The true shine of these ceramic pieces will emerge after the next steps: glazing and coloring, which are coming soon. We expect the final products will delight not only those who made them but also everyone who sees or uses them.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In a conversation with Ms. Marija, we learned another exciting piece of news \u2013 teachers will also soon have the chance to try their hand at ceramics! What kinds of creative activities await them? Stay tuned \u2013 we’ll reveal more in one of our upcoming articles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And last but not least, a heartfelt thank-you goes to Mr. Igor Putica, a member of our IT department, who made it possible to remotely control this smart machine through a dedicated app. Without his support, the entire process wouldn\u2019t have been as smooth or as exciting!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
