As part of our ongoing Unit of Inquiry, Sharing the Planet, Year 5 students had the honour of welcoming representatives of the Red Cross Tivat to our school. This visit was a valuable opportunity for students to learn first-hand about real examples of humanitarian work and to understand how such organisations provide support to people in times of need.

During the interactive workshop, the Red Cross representatives spoke about the importance of solidarity, humanity, and being ready to help the community. The students participated actively, asked questions, and analysed different situations in which support is most needed. In this way, they deepened their understanding of local and global responsibility, directly connecting with our unit’s central theme.

The visit was inspiring, educational, and emotionally impactful, giving students a clear picture of how important it is to be prepared to help others. Through this experience, our students gained a unique insight into the positive influence that organisations like the Red Cross have on communities around the world — including our own.
